| Introduction: | Quartz cuvette is a small tube of circular or square cross section, sealed at one end, made of high-purity quartz (for 190nm - 2500nm) and designed to hold samples for spectroscopic experiments. Quartz cuvettes are as clear as possible, without impurities that might affect a spectroscopic reading. Like a test tube, a quartz cuvette may be open to the atmosphere on top or have a cap to seal it shut. |

| Quartz Cuvette Micro Cell |

| Introduction: | The microcell cuvette is currently being marketed under several names including TrayCell, Labelguard and nanoCell. Quartz cuvette micro cells retain the exterior dimensions of a standard cuvette but can measure sample volumes from 160ul to 50ul over a wavelength range of 170 to 2700nm. The entrance to the sample compartment is hemispherical, designed without sharp corners to eliminate potential loss of sample due to capillary action. The sample is inserted into and retrieved from the cell by careful use of a pipette. The sample compartment in the cell optimizes the alignment of the sample for maximum sensitivity in the spectrophotometer. The correct Z-dimension must be selected for the cell, depending on the type of spectrophotometer used. |
